Week 396 - Tour 2014 Reality vs Planning Week 2 - 03-16-2014

Tour 2014, Reality vs Planning Week 2

Our little tour for 2014 has come to an end already!  The first week was pretty much as we planned.

This week we had slight deviations based on web clients that were not ready for us.

We did:
9. Meet Melissa in Coachella Valley to pick up Mandy's friend Sam, so Melissa can go to Ireland.
10. Visited with Gordon and Karen at ORI - Outdoor Resorts Indio, their wintertime home.

It is always a blessing to be with good friends.  We spent three days at this fabulous motorhome resort. Next week we'll present a complete travelogue that highlights this place.

11. Head to Hemet, California for a new web design job. Client was too busy doing his job to work with us, project postponed.
12. Travel back to Central Coast  Nipomo for more family time.

We could have taken the green route home and made it several hours earlier.  But we took the blue route and did we have fun!

Full Time Living Lesson #133 - Avoid the freeways!  First, instead of four or five lanes of city freeway traffic, we traveled the two lane Hwy 138 with beautiful scenery.

Second, you get to see things you would have missed. Like a fire in the foothills.

The Highway Patrol offered two choices, park for two and 1/2 hours or backtrack to Lancaster and go around.

We were just seven miles from Hwy 5 and going around would be 115 miles. Full Time Living Lesson #134 - You are always home!  So we parked, played, watered the dogs, slept, ate and could have showered.  And Ellen got some great photos of the fire fighters.

Incoming!!!

Ready, drop!

Mission Accomplished. (Are we still allowed to say that?)

Just think, we could have missed this. Overall the trip was pretty much as planned.  It was nice to hit the road again. However, we are back on the California Central Coast where we will be until June. We must prepare our house for new renters and get them into the house before we can travel again.

So in lieu of travels we will be adding or update pages to www.BigRigBible.com.  What began as a weekly email home has become a 642+ page Full Time Motorhome Guide.  So we will continue to create what we believe is the most comprehensive and well-organized guide to full time RV travel.

Happy Trails,

Love, Pete, Ellen, Mandy and Sam, Woof!
