Week 133 - San Gabriel Valley CA - 03-01-2009
Greetings from San Gabriel Valley,
On Tuesday we left our friends from Hemet. They asked why would we
leave when it is so much fun there? Because, we have been blessed with
a large family of "horns" and we headed off to see them. First, we
spent the evening and overnight in Yucaipa with Dr. Paul Horn. Paul is
a cousin of Ellen's dad Carl. From there we stayed two nights at the
Elks in West Covina getting a minor motorhome repair. We ended the
week with
a mini-family reunion celebrating the 90th birthday of Ellen's Uncle
Bob.
Some motor homers don't like to drive in big cities. We don't mind, you
never know what you might find
. . .
Like East Shore RV Park just two miles off the I-10 Freeway in San
Dimas. This huge park of 519 sites has many overlooking Puddingstone
Lake. Our site was large enough for several motorhomes. Sites vary
from those like ours to side-by-side "parking lot" sites. We suggest
you ask for a description of your site when you call. The site map
will not help you figure this out.
Our daughter Melissa and roommate Ashley came up from San Diego to join
us.
This site is, well, pretty good size!
While our map shows our general direction to be towards Arizona, this
week we came back for Uncle Bob's 90th birthday party. Seated are
Glenda and Bob with two of their friends standing. Happy Birthday Bob,
may God bless you this year. One of Bob's daughters, Dorothy in the
background.
We have been telling you that the best part of full time travel is the
people you run across. This week was no exception. Here is Ellen with
Dr. Paul Horn, cousin Danny, sisters Janice and Carla, brother Larry,
cousins Danny and Gary and little brother Art.
1) Heather, Dennis, Carla, Gary, Kerry and Beverly. 2) Ron and the
girls..
1) Uncle Ron, Melissa, cousin Donny and Ashley. 2) Two of Donny's
girls, Cara and Lizzie.
1) Art, Kerry, Dennis and Ron. 2) Bob's daughter Janet.
1) Cousin's Dennis and Kerry (hey, you guys are in all the pictures!). 2) Larry and Beverly.
1) Cousin Danny and Uncle Ron 2) Ellen with our girls.
No Horn family reunion is complete without a Stimulus package going
directly to private industry. Thirty of us got together, as we always
do, to break bread and have fellowship before we head home. What a
family!
Okay, next week we're off to warmer weather at the Salton Sea, El
Centro and Arizona. We hope you will join us, love, Pete and Ellen.
