Week 86 - Frank & Janice's - 04-06-2008
Howdy from the Homeland,
Leaving Lake San Antonio we headed "home" to Frank and Janice's
ranchette. We spent the week with family, ours and theirs. Most of
week was spent right here in Paso Robles. On the weekend we took
scooter trips around the area and visited our boys, Nick, John and
Andrew. Usually you don't think to highlight the areas in your own
neighborhood, but when you have been gone for a while, you see them in
a new light. On our road trips we always try to travel on roads that
are new to us. We toured through Paso Robles and Creston on roads that
we have never been on before. We finished our trip viewing the
beautiful wild flowers on Shell Creek Road and celebrating Peter's 65th
birthday party.
Being at Frank's house is like staying at a KOA only there are more
kids!
Ellen's sisters Janice and Carla visit while the kids bike down the
ramp.
Pete and Frank try out the electric bikes while Ellen's nephew Matt
gives his Grandma Erlyn a hug.

The Paso Robles Inn is the oldest hotel in town and Hotel Cheval is one
of the newest.
On December 23rd, 2003, a 6.5 magnitude earthquake destroyed the
historic clock tower built in 1892 (Photo courtesy of Marie ). A
new building and tower now stands across from the Paso Robles downtown
city park.
For our RV friends, be sure to stay at the Wine Country RV Resort, one
of the finest in the county, and within easy driving distance of over
250 wineries.
Vineyards and horse ranches populate the Paso/Creston area.
The wildflowers on Shell Creek Road off of Highway 58 were gorgeous and
plentiful.
These flowers were on La Panza road east of Creston.
This was a tiny sample of what Shell Creek had to offer.
On the way to Oppa Peter's birthday party we passed this Zebra who was
as interested in us as we were of him. Pete prepares for the chilly
scooter ride home bidding farewell to Peter.
We hope you had a great week and that the Lord blesses you.
Love, Pete and Ellen
