Week 85 - Emily's Bridal Shower - 03-30-2008
Heading Home from Hemet,
We had a wonderful time with our friends in Hemet, but now it was time
to head home for Emily's bridal shower. After an Easter Sunday dinner
with Chad, Emily and our Canadian friends we drove to Rincon Beach,
Ventura, CA. We stayed at the Elks in Santa Barbara, dined with Paul
in Santa Maria and camped one night at the Atascadero Elks. Then off to Santa Antonio Lake near Art and Kelli's house.
Emily's cousin Tera hosted the shower; and with the help of her family,
planned and put on a beautiful day for Emily. The spread of food was
huge and tasty. Emily was surrounded by her family, friends and
roommates and opened many fine gifts. Our thankfulness goes out to
Tera, Stephanie, Art and Kelli and all the guests. You are a blessing!

North of San Luis Obispo, at the base of Cuesta Grade is the remains of
Motel Inn. Motel Inn was built by Arthur Heineman in 1925 as a
stopover for travelers going from San Francisco to Los Angeles.
Originally called Milestone Mo-Tel, it is known as the first motel in
the world. Previous to this motel, travelers camped or slept in the
cars on the two day trip.
