Week 22 - FMCA Indio Rally - 01-14-2006
Greetings from Palm Springs,
We spent three weeks at home during Christmas visiting the kids, family
and friends. Since most of you reside there we did not send out weekly
updates. Last week we came down to the Palm Springs area for an FMCA
rally.
We had hoped to escape the cold by coming to Palm Springs, however the
cold front followed us.
We spent several days at the FMCA (Family Motor Coach Association)
rally in Indio. We met a lot of nice people (many from British
Columbia who were escaping their freezing weather), went to many
exhibits, and attended a few classes which taught the "ins and outs" of
motor homing. There were 1,700 motor homes at the fairground with us.
It was very well organized. Our favorite part of the rally was the
morning devotions
with the other motor homers from all over the world. What a special
time that was.
We spent a couple evenings with our friend, Sheryl, from Outdoor
Resorts Motor Coach Country Club where we first met her in November. That
was very fun.
This Dixieland Band of RV'ers lead us in two hours of Gospel Music on
Sunday morning.
Next week we will stay in the Palm Springs area until Friday when we go
to the Quartzite RV Show. It has been said that 250,000 people will
visit
Quartzite in that week.
Love, Pete and Ellen
