Maui Photo Collection 1 of 2

Time-Shares are a bane to some folks. Not at the beginning, they are great! As the years go by you get tired of going the the same place, so you trade for a different locale. Sometimes the trade you want just never happens; the date you requested is not available. That's when you fall out of love with those annual fees.

In 2000 we were offered a Marriott Maui Ocean Club time share week for $500 and it included a car! Note that prior to this trip, Pete always liked to move around every few days when on vacation. (Our month-long Honeymoon was in a pickup camper and motorcycle, covering 7 Western states. Perhaps, this set the stage for Pete's desire to "move on".)

We accepted that special offer and spent the whole week at one location. Ellen loved it and so did Pete! So we purchased an every other year time-share from Marriott. Thus, visiting the island since 2000, we have over 1,300 photos to share.

Maui Ocean Club Resort

The entry to the owners greeting lounge where you can ask to upgrade your share (which we don't).

The Lanai 8-story tower. Previously a hotel for which they combined two rooms to become a time share.

One of the beautiful lawns along the club's beach.

Sunset view from the property.

Outside the Resort

The Lahaina town Banyon Tree (Ficus Benghalensis). Yes, all these limbs and trunks are connected.

A whale watching boat; Maui is a whale sanctuary and one of the world's best whale viewing areas.

The top of Molokini, an extinct volcano and fabulous for snorkeling.

Sunset viewing from atop of Haleakala, the islands 9,740 foot extinct volcano.

Great sunsets. but more that 30 degrees colder than the ocean level

Para-sailing, one of many ways to enjoy the ocean.

Or surf right from the Resort.

A swan from the resort next door.

Hawaiian dancers next door on the other side.

Is there a better place to jog?

Another gang of whale watchers.

Enjoy the day speeding along in your colorful outrigger.

Finishing up the 5K run.

Haleakala Volcano: The high-elevation rain forest above Hana on the volcano may get as much as 400 inches of rain. Lower island venues get as little as 10 inches.

Our only time alone in 2013; it was great too!

Maui is always great and we are blessed to be able to visit.

With love, Pete, Ellen and Mandy
