Week 410 - Favorite Photos #4 - 06-22-2014
Favorite Photos #4
We are still in Atascadero interviewing renters for our house. Yes,
we are picky, but who wouldn't be after having angels rent your
home?
We know that many are addicted to the weekly travelogues, so we will
bring you some of our best photos for the next few weeks. We have
taken 72,994 photos in the last eight years but have to give quality
credit to our wonderful camera, the Sony DSC-H5, a 7 megapixel
"prosumer" camera. A prosumer camera is the best of the consumer
cameras, just below a digital-SLR. DSLR cameras can create higher
quality images but even large computer screens have limited pixels.
The photos shown in this travelogue are only 900 pixels width and
675 pixels high. That is just over a 1/2 megapixel presentation. As
you can see you don't need a 20 megapixel DSLR camera when the web
is your destination. We love this Sony camera and used it until
August 2013 when we upgraded to the Sony Cybershot DSC-HX200V. Both
cameras fit in a coat pocket and has a big optical zoom so you don't
have to carry extra lens like a DSLR camera. This H5 has a 16x zoom.
The HX200V has a 30x zoom and many more automated features to make
it look like we know what are doing! These snapshots are from the
H5.
Most of our travelogues have photos that have been edited with
cropping, color and contrast enhancement, adding someone's head from
a better photo or reducing their waist size. In our Favorite photo
series we do no editing, not even cropping. If you use one of these
cameras and can properly "frame" your subject, you too can get
photos like these. All of these photos are from our 2007 "Eastern
Swing" RV trip.
These photos have been chosen "because we like them". A lot has to
due with the colors and contrast, lighting or just a great subject.
Enjoy!
