Week 335 - Looking for the State of Warm - 01-13-2013

The Hunt Begins

Leaving Atascadero we headed to the Southwest to spend the winter in the nice weather.  We left town headed for the "State of Warm".

Leaving Atascadero at 53 degrees, we are pleased to be heading to warmer weather.

Is it at the Blue Beacon in Wheeler Ridge?  No, not really at 52 degrees.

How about on Highway 5 as we pass Frazier Park?  Again, no at 52.

Aha! Hemet CA at 61 and four brand new pickleball courts. Now we getting somewhere!

Better yet, it's 65 in Aguanga at Jojoba Hills RV Resort, where we learned to play pickleball.

A drop to 57 in Julian, California, home of Mom's Pies and many other pie shops. Well, at least the apple pie was hot.

At little higher and a little colder at 55 degrees passing by Lake Cuyamaca.

Muy bueno! It's 73 in Los Algodones, Mexcio and the deals were hot in this dentist-eyeglass-tourist town.

Back in the good ole USA at Gila Bend, Arizona its slightly cooler at 67 Fahrenheit. But thanks to a few dozen gallons of propane, it's toasty inside the MotherShip.

The temperatures are rising and we think coming to Arizona was a good idea. Oh yeah? Then why was it 36 degrees at 10:00 am this morning when we were playing Pickleball?

So, if you are sitting home trying to keep warm and wish you could be out traveling enjoying the warmth, know that this week was not a week to waste any envy.  Enjoy your home, stay warm and we'll try to make you jealous next week!

Love, Pete (cool), Ellen (freezing) and Mandy (oblivious).
