Week 195 - Waterfall Photo Collection - 05-09-2010

The Waterfall Collection

A phrase we have heard from a few full time motorhomers is "tomorrow is just another beautiful sunset or just another fantastic waterfall".  Indicating that they have seen it all before. Well, frankly, we have not seen that many waterfalls, but we will, which is why we need to get on the road again.  Here are a few of our best so far.

Ellen begins our collection as she poses at the falls on the BrickTown Canal in Oklahoma City. Sure, it's man-made.  But, falling water anywhere just makes you feel good!

Onto Mt. Rainer National Park and Narada Falls.  This is the tallest photo we have ever presented.  Since we started in August 2006, Internet speeds have increased dramatically and so have many computer monitor sizes.  So we can send out larger photos.  It would be good information for us to know if you can see the entire photo of Narada Falls on your monitor.  So please reply and let us know if you can or cannot.

Pete climbs the staircase by one of the waterfalls in Whitewater Canyon, Gila National Forest in New Mexico.

This waterfall is right along the road was you travel through the South Dakota tourist town of Hot Springs.

British Columbia has a number of spectacular waterfalls. This is Shannon Falls near Squamish, B.C. on the Sea the Sky Highway.

Nothing completes a five-star RV park restaurant like a nice waterfall.  Motorcoach Country Club, Indio, California.

Hawaii? No, Buchart Gardens on Vancouver Island, British Columbia.

Yellowstone National Park has 290 waterfalls, so we can't show them all.  1) Tower falls  2) Unknown (to us) falls on the Madison River.

1) Gibbons Falls and 2) Upper Yellowstone falls.

And even our short list would not be complete without Niagara Falls.  On the US side is the American & Bridal Veil Falls on the left, flowing at 150,000 gallons per second. The Canadian Horseshoe Falls in the rear flows at 600,000 gallons per second.

If you get to the falls, take the Maid of the Mist boat ride to the base of the Horseshoe Falls.  The power and beauty of the water has no comparison short of God!

The night life on the Canadian side is impressive.  Take the time to visit the falls during the day and at night.

And yes, you will get wet whether on the boat ride or a walk to the American falls viewing platforms.  Enjoy!

And Happy Mother's Day to all the great moms out there.

Love, Pete and Ellen
