Week 168 - Arches National Park Photo Collection - 11-01-2009
Hello from Home,
We are back in Atascadero for the month of November. As there is
little in this area that we have not already shown, we are presenting a
series of Photo Collections. Ellen has taken
42,287 photos since our adventure began, so we have a few you haven't
seen! In weeks 8 and 9 we included six photos from Arches National
Park. Here now is our Arches National Park Collection.
Arches National Park is in southeast Utah just five miles north of the
city of Moab. While the park is all red rock with minimal vegetation,
nearby Moab is situated along the Colorado River and is very lush and
quite beautiful. There is only one entrance to Arches, so basically
you travel in and out on the same 25 mile road.
Sites along the road include a tremendous variety of rock formations.
Plan to spend one or more days especially during the busy season. At
each viewing location you will need to park and perhaps walk quite a
distance to a view point. And if you take in some of the great hikes
you
will need a lot of time.
Courthouse Towers
Balanced Rock
Double Arch.
Our Angel scoots through Devil's Garden.
Delicate Arch, the most famous arch in the park.
"I tell you, if these become silent, the stones will cry out". Luke
19:40. Wouldn't that be awesome if you were at Arches National Park?
We hope you enjoy our new collection series as we visit family and
relatives and plan our adventure for 2010.
Love, Pete and Ellen
This special edition travelogue was brought to you as there is nothing new in our travel.
