Week 76 - Southern CA - 01-27-2008

Go Chargers!

We watched the Chargers and the Patriots on Sunday with the kids (and the rest of San Diego).  It was a good game but a sad ending for us.  So we said our goodbyes and headed to El Centro.  Our image of El Centro was a rather barren farming community.  But to our surprise we found the very nice Rio Bend RV Park.  The weather was sunny and warmer than most of California.

We took highway 94 from San Diego to El Centro.  It is an interesting twisty road that allowed us to see the local culture.

Rio Bend RV Park.  Our MoHo is in the middle facing the pond.

Heated pool and spa. Ellen went to a couple exercise classes during our stay.

And an 18 hole golf course.

We left Rio Bend and moved on to Aguanga which is east of Temecula by 17 miles.  The road from El Centro to Aguanga goes through a lot of nothing and looks similar to what you might find on the moon!   The weather in Aguanga was slightly cooler than El Centro but the weather report said it would rain in both places.  We thought that if we motorhome-bound we might as well pay less.  Rio Bend was $50.00 per night and Jojoba Hill RV Resort in Aguanga is only $20.00!

The view from our site at Jojoba Hills RV Resort.

The pool area is spectacular.  It has a large heated pool, two spas, library, video rentals, pool room with three tables, fitness center with saunas, tennis, pickleball, shuffle board, bocce ball, cable TV and full hookups.  Oh, did we mention it is only $20.00?

Sunrise out our front window.  On Sunday we did finally get the rain that y'all Californians have been blessed with.

While we are going to stay here until the 9th of February, we hope to take some side trips to get some great photos.

Have a great week,

Love, Pete and Ellen
