Week 67 - Northern California, Thanksgiving - 11-25-2007

Blessings from Northern California,

After a great visit with the Greg and family in Campbell, CA we headed off toward the Chad and Emily's in Durham.  We spent the night at Wally World (Walmart) in Dixon and arrived in Durham early in the morning.  Chad's parents, Esther and Steve, have the gift of hospitality and the meals were outstanding.  We spent four days at their house to help plan Emily and Chad's wedding. Esther is an accomplished seamstress and will be creating Emily's dress.  To Esther, Steve and Chad:  We couldn't be happier than having Emily marry into your wonderful family.  You are a blessing from the Lord.

1. Emily and her beau, Chad.  2. Ellen and Em. 3. Chad's grandparents, Bernice and Lloyd.  4. Thanksgiving meal with Esther's mom Barbara and sister Jan.

We spent a few hours in Grass Valley at DeMartini's new RV store.  It is on 3 acres and when complete, will probably be the finest RV store in California.  We bought our Monaco Diplomat from Tim DeMartini.  His family-run dealership is the best.  The new store will have an inside showroom, nine service bays and room to park 200 new motorhomes outside.  The entire lot is paved with concrete and will have six full hookups for customers in for service.

We are willing to try any road once.  Highway 198 from Coalinga to San Lucas is one of those "one time" roads.  Slow but fun and beautiful; meant for motorcycles that are not carried on the back of a motorhome.
