Favorite Photos #26 Palmer, Wasilla Alaska

Leaving Denali RV Park, our good friends John and Rosie snapped this photo of the MotherShip launching us onward to the Wasilla/Palmer Elks lodge.

A creek near the Elks.

The Elks lodge is on Finger Lake.

Of the 106 Elks Lodges we have visited (as of Sep 2018), this is the most beautiful setting. Sitting on this deck you can watch members arrive in the boats and water planes.

The MotherShip awaits our departure from the Elks, enjoying the beauty and solitude of Alaska.

Matanuska Lake, Palmer, Alaska.

Mount Baldy taken from Eagle River.

Even the views from a parking lot in Alaska are stunning.

Today in 2018, we just noticed that Rosie "photo bombed" this 2009 photo.

And on the Eklutna Lake Site Trail this car also took part in photo bombing.

Rosie and Ellen took time to enjoy the overlook at Eklutna Lake.

4th of July celebration in Wasilla, Alaska.

Patriotism abounds!

Sparky was happy to greet all the kids.

This little bug was painted to celebrate Alaska's 50th statehood anniversary. Do you suppose they will use a full length VW van on the 100th anniversary?

Ellen heads up the Bodenburg Butte trail.

This 1.5 mile trail starts easy, has a few moderate to difficult sections, but is worth the hike. The peak gives you views of Matanuska River, Knik River, Gull Lake, Swan Lake and more.

We just can't get over how many amazing photos you get in Alaska. It might take us months to get back to the lower 48!

With love, Pete, Ellen and Mandy
