Week 285 - Palm Creek Golf & RV Resort - 01-29-2012
Home Sweet Home: Casa Grande, Arizona,

Palm Creek Golf & RV Resort

Well, really we are homeless. But, we will be staying at Palm Creek for six weeks.  Our usual maximum stay is one week and then only for a very good reason.  Up until 2010 we moved an average of twice a week.  Why?  We were still enjoying visiting the greatest country on Earth!  And we want to continue our travels and discovery. Our problem is PBHD.  We just love Pickleball and the physical exercise that keeps us in shape.  In the 2010-2011 season we played 11 tournaments.  For most of these, we spent a week at each tournament location; a few days to practice and then the tournament. In the next six weeks, in the areas surrounding Casa Grande, there are six tournaments.  We will play in four or five of them before we leave.

This is home, beautiful Palm Creek Golf & RV Resort.  From the moment you enter you are surrounded by luscious landscaping.

We don't play golf, but it is just plain pleasant to be surrounded by this gorgeous 18-hole course.

You can take some very nice walks along the edges of the course.

At the center of the park are great facilities, starting with the five star lobby / registration area.

The large facility includes workshops, fitness center, billiard room, library, activities office, mail room and meeting rooms.  This room below is being used for the Sunday chapel.

The stain glass workshop is huge and fully equipped.

This is the central pool and spa area.  There is a smaller pool / spa area to serve the homes in the outlying area.

Sports activities abound: A high quality softball field, lawn bowling, shuffleboard, water volleyball, horse shoes, golf, tennis and of course . . .

Pickleball !!!

The sites include park models, two bedroom village homes, motorhomes, fifth wheels and trailers.  There are only a handful of people that stay through the very hot summers.

The back-in sites are large, level gravel with concrete patios. A few pull-throughs are available for overnight stays. All with full hookups and including cable TV.

So we will be here six weeks playing Pickleball two to four hours per day.  By the end of our stay we will have played four or more tournaments and probably won't be able to walk without help.  Then, we will move on to continue our enjoyment of America.

But, don't fear, we have thousands of photos you haven't seen (about 20,000 or so). We will be bringing you more of our Photo Collections to keep you entertained and amused while you count the days it takes us to get over PBHD.

Until next week, enjoy your days and be happy,

Love, Pete, Ellen and Mandy
