Week 115 - Arizona - 10-26-2008

Warm Weather Welcomes from Arizona,

Hello Arizona, hello warm weather, hello sitting outside at night, we love you!  We so enjoyed getting back into a climate where you might have to run the A/C during the day, but at night you can sit out after dark in shorts.  Hurray for Arizona!   We did not tour much this entire week as we were busy putting the finishing touches on our new website.

The first edition of the website will be announced this week.  The site presents itself as The complete online reference for Full Time Motorhome travelers in the USA.  Many, over the last two years, have encouraged us to write a book about our travels.  It is nice to hear that some would think of this as something others might pay to read.  However, before we began our RV research, we purchased several books.  They had great information, but being 3 to 7 years old, they were woefully out of date.

So our "book" is now a website. We can change it in minutes and keep all the information pertinent to a changing world.  Anyway, that is how we spent our week, enjoying the weather and the web.

1) Our site at Distant Drums RV Park, Camp Verde AZ  2) Yet another incredible sunset.

The Cliff Castle Casino is only a short shuttle bus away from Distant Drums.  We went there for lunch at "Johnny Rockets" 50's diner.  After lunch Ellen let Pete know it was time to go!

Even though Pete was holding her up, she could still smile for the camera.

Every state in the country has a different beauty.  This is Interstate 17 from Camp Verde to  Phoenix.

Our park of choice in Goodyear, just west of Phoenix, is Destiny RV.  We had stayed here in February 2006 and did look at another park nearby.  But this was definitely the best choice.

The sites are older and little small.  We fit with our scooter, but a car would have to be parked elsewhere.  Some of the sites further from the clubhouse and pool are a little larger. Very nice.

Hey California, tired of outrageous prices?  This new 2,000 square foot, unfurnished, house is available for $183,000.  That won't buy a fixer-upper in our home town.

Ellen's cousins live in the Phoenix area.  We had a wonderful dinner with Bob and Barbara.  The others were unavailable this trip, but that gives us a good reason to come back!

We are less than one week away from our SOWERs ministry month in Jamul, California.  We'll be reporting soon about this opportunity we have to serve the Lord.

Be blessed, love Pete and Ellen
